Labor Day

Dearest Joshua David~

Hello my little angel .... today is Labor Day (observed on the first monday in september).  Since it's a national holiday, daddy had off from work and we got to hang out as a family!  :-)  To celebrate, we had pancakes for breakfast .... well, you had your usual bottle.  ;-)

We relaxed this morning and you took a tiny nap in your crib.  I went to wash your bottles, so I placed you in the crib to play.  When I turned around, you had fallen fast asleep with one of your toys.  :-P  You didn't sleep too long, so once you woke up, we watched an episode of "Rocky and Bullwinkle" on the computer.  :-)

We called your (Great) Aunt Beth and cousin Stephanie to wish them a happy Labor Day.  They're in Pennsylvania, but are driving back to North Carolina tomorrow.  We could hear our cousin Charlie in the background.  :-)  Stephanie said we can continue to borrow Charlie's baby items for little Peanut.  :-)

Even though it was a holiday, you still had your physical therapy appointment.  Eliza came over around lunch time and you all did your exercises.  She was impressed with your crawling and sitting.  You've really shown improvements in both areas.  Your neck muscles are also progressing.  You're turning your head from side to side more and not just staying to the right.  You resist your exercises when you're on your back and someone has puts their hand on your head to hold it, but if the hand is away from your face, you'll keep your head to the left for a while.  Remember, you started physical therapy months ago to help correct your mild case of torticollis.  You still need practice with rolling.  You haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet, but I know you will in time.  :-)  Oh, Eliza said you have the cutest laugh and giggle!  Daddy and I agree!  :-)

After your appointment, we headed over to Mimi's house for a cookout!  There was a lot of good food there .... pork, potato and pasta salads, bread, veggies, ice cream, brownies .... you took a big 8 ounce bottle while we ate and visited.  Uncle Brennan and Aunt Katie were there too.  You played on the screened in deck and then took a nap on Mimi.

I haven't noticed this until this evening, but the trees in the backyard woods area (where the deer live) have started to change color for the fall.  Most of the leaves are still green, but they're turning yellow and orange.  It looks pretty out there.  :-)

I had the hiccups this evening and sounded like you!  Ha!

Tomorrow, even though it's a tuesday, I have to head into work.  Dr. Rickert took this week off for vacation, so I'm covering the clinic tomorrow, wednesday, and thursday.  You'll be with Mimi all day tomorrow, so I know you'll have fun.  :-)  Save some smiles and kisses for me!

Sleep tight little precious!

I love you my Joshua!  :-)
