Special Time

Dearest Joshua David~

Hello my precious!  Today was a special day because we got to spend time with family before tomorrow's day of surgery ....

We slept in a little this morning .... since you fought sleep again last night!  I don't know why you've been fighting it so much recently, but you finally went to bed around 11pm.

We did some chores around the house, and then Grandpa Mike came over in the morning to change some of the chains on the front porch swing.  He drilled two new holes in the ceiling and used different hooks (that don't squeak) to attach the swing.  We both sat in it and you liked swinging around.  The swing shouldn't go anywhere now!  It's pretty sturdy so we shouldn't have any problems with it getting loose.

We ate a quick lunch and then we all got ready.  Daddy and I packed your diaper bag and we changed your outfit to something warmer.  You were wearing something with short sleeves in the house, but it's gotten a little chilly outside.  So, we dressed you in a long sleeve orange shirt that says "I'm So Cute It's Scary!" for Halloween, jeans, and socks.  :-)  You were so cute!  Everything was size 12 months, but we had to cuff the pants.  :-P  I wonder if you'll be like me when you grow up .... all pants are long on me!  Ha!  Sorry buddy!

Anyway, once we were all packed, we headed over to Mimi's house to visit.  Tomorrow, she's having heart surgery, so we wanted to make sure she was able to visit with you before then.  While she's recovering, she won't be able to lift you (you'll be too heavy), and she'll need to be in a sanitized place for a while (away from your sticky little fingers).  ;-)  So, before you can see her again, we'll need to wait until she's feeling stronger so she doesn't get hurt.  But, daddy thinks we can connect our computers so she'll be able to see you on a video camera.  That should put a smile on her face!  :-)

But, it's not just you .... we all have to be healthy when we see her again .... I felt like I had a cold all day (I couldn't stop sneezing!) and daddy even had to watch you for the majority of the evening because of that.  So, we all need to feel better before Mimi can see us, so she can rest and have a speedy recovery.

Mimi and Grandpa Mike both got to play with you.  You got to swing on Mimi's new swing in the screened porch.  And, Mimi gave you a bottle.  Mimi had some gifts for you and Princess Peanut too.  ;-)

We met Aunt Katie and Uncle Brennan at Wildflower Pizza for dinner.  You fell asleep in the car and slept through dinner since you were so active at Mimi's.  :-P  Then, Mimi gave you some last minute kisses before we left.

We played this evening, after your usual night time bath.  And, we all said a prayer for Mimi's surgery and recovery process.  I know everything will go well and that the Lord will take good care of her tomorrow.  Grandpa Mike will keep us updated as the day goes on.

Sleep tight little miracle!

I love you!

~Mommy
