Hello cutie pie!
Today you had a big day! First, we saw three deer in the backyard as we ate our breakfast! They blended in with the trees, but I held you up to the window so you could see. :-)
We had to quickly do some chores around the house and get ready for the ICN Reunion! We sorted through all your clothes and ran a load in the washing machine. You're growing out of the 9 month clothes, so we dressed you in 12 month clothing! The pants were a little long, but the shirt fit your perfectly! We ended up cuffing your pants.
I gave you some "tender chicken and stars" this morning, but you only ate a few spoonfuls. It took you a while to eat one of the pasta stars .... you kept spitting it out and making faces. We'll keep practicing though so you get use to eating real food and not just bottles. Oh, and you made a big mess with your food in the high chair. :-P
Once we cleaned you up, we headed over to Gigi's house. She rode with us to the park for the reunion. Grandpa Jim ended up meeting us there later.
The weather was perfect! And, there were so many people there! We saw physical therapists, doctors, and nurses that all saw you while you were still in the hospital (and they held you!). You got to see all the other children that were there too. The hospital does the reunion every year, so the children all ranged in age .... some were tiny babies and others were running all around!
We found a nice patch of grass, spread out two towels, played with you, and ate lunch. They had activities for the children, but most of the things you were too small for .... but they had blow up balls that you liked to play with (and we could take them home!). :-) We all had a lot of fun.
As we were leaving, it was time for one of your bottles, so we drove over to Gigi's house so we could change your diaper and feed you. Gigi gave you a container of bananas, you showed her how you throw cheerios on the floor, and she gave you a bottle. :-P We visited there for a while and relaxed.
Then, we packed you up and ran a few errands .... we made a quick trip to Babies R Us, Kohl's, and then the grocery store. We wanted to get you a few more 12 month onesies since you're growing so much. We picked up 4 outfits for you and one of the four we got was 18 months; so, you can grow into that one. I carried you around on my back in the baby carrier as we shopped for clothes and groceries.
We ended up getting home a little late, so daddy started on dinner as I gave you a bath. You peed in the tub .... again! But, this time you did it and we were almost finished. :-P But, you also got poopy on the changing table cover, so I switched that out and we ran another load of your laundry and put the new outfits in there.
You practiced with your sippy cup at dinner, though you still need help holding it. Then, we all played on the bed until you fought sleep again! :-P
I haven't told you this yet, but your Mimi is having heart surgery on Monday .... don't worry .... she'll be ok and daddy and I have been praying for her. She needs to have an Aortic Valve replacement (once you take biology you'll know what that is), so tomorrow we're going to spend some extra special time with her. Once she has the surgery, she won't be able to lift you for a while. Keep her in your prayers little man. You and little Princess Peanut will need to help her get through the recovery.
Sleep tight little one!
I love you very much! :-)
~Mommy
