Fifty Weeks

Dearest Joshua David~

Hello big man!  Today you are fifty weeks old .... just two weeks away from your first birthday!  I can't believe it's been almost one year since I had you .... time has flown by so quickly!  :-)

Well, since you fought sleep again last night, you didn't actually go to bed until around 11pm.  Needless to say, daddy and I were exhausted!  And, because you fell asleep so late, you ended up sleeping in this morning and didn't take your first bottle until after 9am.  We need to get you back on track man .... these late nights are wearing us down, especially when one, or both, of us have to go to work the next day.  :-P

Daddy ended up working a half day today, so we had a Half Family Friday.  :-)  He came home for lunch and then we got to spend the rest of the afternoon together as a family.  :-)  You ended up not taking a morning nap, so you took a little one after lunch.  Daddy and I closed our eyes too since we were still tired from last night!  :-P

You finished all your butternut squash today .... we're still practicing with cheerios and baby crackers though.

Once you woke up, we packed you up and walked around Target and the mall to stretch our legs and to enjoy the beautiful weather!  Since all the rain stopped, it's been nice and cool outside.  We put you in the big stroller and walked all around and then relaxed outside for a little while until it was time for us to head towards the soccer game.

We saw the Carolina Railhawks play against a team from Austin, Texas.  We got there early because daddy's soccer league provided dinner as part of a fundraiser.  You loved all the people and ended up "people watching" all night!  We kept watching all the other little kids there too.  It got really chilly as the game started (the sun was already down), so we had you in a blanket to stay warm.  We ended up leaving at half time (since you still needed a bath and wanted to keep you on schedule).  The game was tied at half time 1-1 (but we learned later that we won 3-1).  :-)

You got really fussy as we drove back home.  I had to pull over just so daddy could sit in back with you and calm you down.  :-P  You were fine once someone sat with you.  My allergies were really acting up, so daddy had to give you your bath as I cleaned your bottles.

Tomorrow we have another fun activity lined up for you .... your ICN (Intensive Care Nursery) Reunion is tomorrow at a park near Gigi's house!  Wake Med Hospital does a reunion every year for all the ICN "graduate" babies so the nurses and doctors can see everyone again.  It should be a lot of fun, and the weather looks like it should be nice.  :-)

Sleep tight little precious!

I love you!  :-)

~Mommy
