Dearest Joshua David~
Hello cutie! Happy Independence Day! On July 4, 1776, the United States declared their independence from England. This evening, we listened and saw fireworks from the windows of the townhouse. They were loud and some appeared to be right over our heads!
Today was a great day for your daddy and I .... you were baptized and sealed in the Holy Spirit! This is always a great occasion for parents .... to see their children blessed and enter the Christian family. We were so proud of you, and everyone was so happy to see you up there getting baptized! Everyone came to church: Gigi, Grandpa Jim, Mimi, Grandpa Mike, Uncle James, Uncle Brennan, (Great) Aunt Beth, your Great-Grandma, Great-Grandpa, daddy, me, and Stephanie and Kevin Dove. The Doves are your God-Parents, and both will be great Christian role models for you as you grow! Stephanie and I were in a Bible Study when we were in graduate school, and we were both bridesmaids in each others wedding. :-) The baptism was emotional, and I cried after (happy tears). ;-)
You also got gifts from people after the baptism. Right now, things are still in boxes since we moved, but I know you got toys and a Bible. :-)
Everyone went to the new house afterward to see it. We still don't have power, so we didn't have air conditioning .... which meant the place was hot. :-P We didn't stay long since you were getting hungry. So, a smaller group of us went for lunch around the corner from the house.
Afterward, you went with Mimi to her house, while daddy, Gigi, (Great) Aunt Beth, and I worked in the house. Gigi and (Great) Aunt Beth changed all the locks in the house and had them all keyed to the same key! Daddy and I took another trip to the townhouse and filled up two more vehicles worth of things and brought them to the new house.
This evening, we continued to pack more things at the townhouse. You played. :-P We have to be completely out of the townhouse tomorrow since the carpets are getting cleaning in the morning, and the tenant should be moving in on tuesday.
Tomorrow, you get to meet a friend of mine, Harpreet! She and I went to Dental School together! She's been in Arizona since we graduated since her husband is now in graduate school. I haven't seen her since our wedding two years ago!
I'm so proud of you and so blessed that you were baptized today. This was such a joyous time for your daddy and I, and a huge importance in your Spiritual life. I love you so much!
Sleep tight little Joshua!
I love you!
~Mommy
